Scope: This document covers the process of bringing up an idea or a technical need that is a NEW feature to our Hosteeva Portal, to the attention of a supervisor, discussing the task/need in detail, and taking that issue up with the CTO of the company or the PM of the IT team. Since it is essential to be efficient in the man/hours of our IT team, we need to filter the tasks and be mindful of the priorities of the tasks themselves, thus the following process should be followed.
Important Note: This process allows new features/tasks to be filtered and prioritized. The tasks requiring more than 6 hours of developer time will be evaluated in terms of priority and resource heaviness. All the rest of the IT-related tasks requiring less developer-dedicated time shall be posted/implemented with PM involvement directly.
Process:
When an agent, a team lead, or a manager has an idea about some new feature, new reporting tool, or some other technical development of Hosteeva Platform, that is needed for the efficiency of our team at the company, they need to discuss and implement that idea in the following order of steps:
- Discuss the idea with their supervisor,
- Bring it to the attention of the OM or GM during their weekly meetings, or if urgent, separately.
- OM and GM look at the features monthly, assessing priority for business purposes.
- OM/GM or the team lead create a Trello task with all the details of discussions on the hosteeva-backend [499] board, in the list “To discuss with CTO”, while adding all relevant people to the task as well as Tony to the Trello card for the task to be followed up accordingly.
- If need be, OM/GM initiates a more detailed discussion with Tony, possibly involving the employee who initiated the task/new feature/report to understand more detail and priority.
- If all the above steps are completed successfully, the CTO or IT PM will implement/move the card to the IT board, where it will get a more specific deadline for completion/implementation.
