Platform Reporting Requirements

Summary: Platform companies are required to file monthly reports that contain all active URL listing and their associated Seattle Short Term Rental Operator License numbers.  Quarterly reports are due at the end of each quarter, outlining the number of active listings and the number of nights booked for short-term rental units.  Monthly and quarterly reports are submitted using the same process and are submitted together.  There is no need to submit individual records for both the monthly and quarterly reports.

You can only submit one report for a month and a year. If you have already submitted a report for a given month/year & need to make changes to that submission, you will need to contact the office at str@seattle.gov. 

How to Submit a Platform Report

Start at the Seattle Services Portal home page

1.) LOGIN: to your account

2.) CLICK: My Records

1. CLICK: Submit Report/Manage License

3.) SELECT: Platform License Report
4.) CLICK: Continue Application

5.) CLICK: Continue Application

6.) SELECT: The Report Year and Report Month

• Note: the report month is the month you are providing data for, not the month in which you are submitting that data. For example, if today is January 15th, you would select December, because your data file contains data that occurred in December.

7.) CLICK: Continue Application

• Attachments: In the Attachment section, you will upload the monthly reporting document that includes operator data for the reporting month. The data shall include:

  • The license number of the operator

  • The URL of the listing

8.) CLICK: Select

11.) CLICK: Open

12.) CLICK: Done

13.) ENTER: a description

14.) CLICK: Save

15.) CLICK: Continue Application

16.) REVIEW: The information provided

Note: Quarterly Report Payment

If this is a quarterly report, a payment screen will appear with a summary of quarterly fees due.  These quarterly fees are calculated based on the number of nights booked for the quarter.  The online system will allow payment via credit card; however, if you would like to pay by check, please follow the instructions here: Short-Term Rental Platform Pay By Check

19.) A Thank You page loads confirming submission of the report.
