How to process the reservation made by a tax-exempt guest

Subject & Goal
This article will spread awareness about the topic of "tax-exempt" guests and will provide certain instructions on how to deal with these guests.

What does "tax-exempt" mean?

Tax-exempt refers to income or transactions that are free from tax at the federal, state, or local level. Thus, tax-exempt frees the taxpayer of any tax obligation to submit taxes on the tax-free transaction or income.

How should we validate the information provided by the guest?

There are types of documents provided to U.S. government officials for tax exemption. Tax exemption documents usually contain the exemption card numbers, expiration date, and detailed information about exemption coverage.

Once the guest provides tax exemption documents and asks for tax exemption, the guest should be informed that the Tax Collection Department will review the case, and the guest will be notified within 48 hours.

In order to notify the tax department, you should contact the department’s supervisor directly.

Once you receive a response from the Tax department, you will just need to communicate it back to the guest.
