In this article, you'll learn about the different reservation statuses and what each status signifies. We'll use Airbnb and booking reservations as examples where the payment is not managed by us.
Step 1: For Airbnb and Booking reservations where payment is not managed by us and is instead processed via bank transfer, there are three primary reservation statuses: "Paid Partially," "Pending," and "Collected." Below is a breakdown of each status:
Paid Partially
The guest has made a partial payment, but the required identification documents (e.g., ID scans) have not been provided. In this case, the reservation confirmation will not be sent until all required documents are submitted.
The guest has completed the primary payment and provided the necessary ID scans, but additional charges (such as a pet fee or refundable damage deposit, RDD) remain unpaid. Consequently, the reservation confirmation will not be sent until these additional charges are paid in full.

Pending
The guest has submitted both the payment in full and the required identification documents.
Additional Charges Processed: Any extra charges, such as pet fees or refundable damage deposits, have been successfully processed. Once all conditions are met, the reservation confirmation can be sent to the guest.

Collected
This status is automatically updated once the guest checks out. It signifies that all payments have been fully processed and the reservation is complete.

Step 6: For reservations made through VRBO, Expedia, Booking, and Hosteeva, where the payment is processed by us via Stripe, the following statuses may apply: "Unpaid," "Invalid CC," "Paid Partially," "Pending," and "Collected." Here’s a breakdown of each status:
Unpaid
The guest has submitted the necessary identification documents (IDs), but no payment has been completed. In this case, the reservation confirmation cannot be sent until full payment is received.
Invalid CC
The guest has provided the required IDs and attempted to make a payment, but the payment did not successfully process due to an issue with the credit card or payment method (e.g., insufficient funds, incorrect details). The reservation confirmation cannot be sent in this scenario.

Paid Partially
The guest has made a partial payment (such as a downpayment) and submitted the required IDs. While this allows for some progress, the reservation confirmation can be sent, but only if the payment is partially processed, and any outstanding balance is expected to be paid later.
Pending
The guest has made a downpayment and provided their IDs, but the full payment is still being processed or is pending. In this case, the reservation confirmation can be sent, but it is contingent on the completion of the full payment process.
Collected
Both the payment (in full) and the required identification documents have been successfully submitted and verified. The reservation confirmation can be sent to the guest, and the booking is considered fully secured.

For Expedia and Booking reservations with a virtual card payment method, the possible statuses are "Pending" and "Collected." The "Pending" status will remain both before and after the IDs are provided. It will change to "Collected" on the check-in day once the virtual card is charged.
